psychic vampyre community on LJ
Shameless plug.. I admit it...

psivampyre is for those of us who don't have a community on LJ and it's being designed as an open discussion journal with resources and hopefully a little bit of help.

I don't claim to know everything about being a psychic vampyre, but I am one. I haven't found any really great resources online (well a few!) and I've come short when looking for vampyre community types in my area. So, the next best solution... START ONE!

Open to all vampyres (sanguine or psi) and black swans (friends).

The Sacred Geometry Oracle
This is related to tarot, even though it's an oracle deck using geometry. i thought I would put it here since no one is really posting much of anything right now. I went and did an oracle reading for myself. I'm not surprised that I connect the dots with this deck more readily than any tarot deck I've ever used before. To me, it's very intuitive. It gets into the art and study of sacred geometry.

I went and did a reading on my current situation: what happens if I stay at Eclipse and what happens if I go to Verizon?

The card representing me was the upside down cube to represent rigidity. I'm not surprised at that at all. It states simply that I have become rigid in my thinking and am retracing patterns that have been traced before... without much success. I knew that.

On the Eclipse side, it stated that things are going more or less the way I detected they are. Eclipse has the potential for me to achieve a sense of proportion and opportunity eventually. But that will only come at a compromise of what I actually desire of the design I've attempted to lay there. It also states flatly that I have come to the point where I am dealing with consequences. These consequences are the result of not having the appropriate tools or skills in place to complete the drawing/ design I wish. But, things could turn out relatively well if I am willing to compromise.

You may be asking, "Compromise what?". I'm of the mentality that it means compromising my potential, my desires, and a degree of self-fulfillment in my job. At the cost of those things, I can have a relatively harmonious outcome.

On the Verizon side, it stated that I am going back to an old pattern and retracing the same pattern I had before, which will turn out to be a dull and unsatisfying pattern. But it also stated that I will need to find a new way to go about things... this introduces to me the idea of going back to school. To that effect, the cards indicate that the pattern and drawing I'm creating will never be perfect and that I will need to depend upon others/ another to complete the drawing itself. I don't know if it refers to a tuition assistance plan, or if it refers to the help I will undoubtedly need along the way to complete this new plan. Either way, it suggests that I would need to be happy with this dependence in order to complete the plan. And it suggests I think about it in terms of whether or not I am willing to do this. That remains to be seen. I'm not sure "what" it is talking about.

Thirdly, I used a final card to ask the outcome of the current situation and a suggestion for going forwards. This last card turned out to be a reversed dodecagon. This is a 12 pointed star that is formed either of 3 perfect squares, 4 perfect equilateral triangles, or can be unicursal.

As a side note, I learned finally what a unicursal shape actually is... it's a shape that can be drawn without lifting the pen from the paper you are drawing it on... I didn't know that.

The last card was the card of complexity (reversed dodecagon). It indicates that there have developed too many complex shapes, too many angles, and too many connections in the current state. Things have not turned out well and over all, there are a lot of hidden complexities that have come to light. To sort this out, according to the oracle, a great deal of the overall plan will either need to be erased, or it might be better to start over.

Not surprised here, either. I definitely have been looking at a restart. Over all, it seems to point to Verizon. That although Eclipse could turn out well, Verizon and school has a greater deal of potential and points towards the most open doors. It also says (tetrahedron) that the path down Verizon contains the energy needed to complete the task at hand.

So I think I have my answer, after an hour of deliberation.

In short, I really like the new deck and it makes a world of sense to me, as it relates divination in a method that I truly understand... one of shape and form.

a peace offering-
This is xposted in several locations.

This evening, August 7th, 2006, Amnesty International is hosting several ceasefire vigils worldwide.  If you can't join one (like me).  Consider lighting a candle for the growing crisis in Lebanon and Israel.  It matters not what side you are on.  We all ought to be on the side of humanity.  Light a candle this evening and say a prayer or have a small ritual for the innocent lives in danger.  Light it for those who have died, are dying, and will die in the days to come.  Light it for the hope that the violence shall end.

"reading" people

What do you guys know about automatic writing? Have any of you every tried it before? I've used ouija boards and I've used a simple pen and paper and had a few successful attempts that showed some insight into what I needed to see at the time.

just curious have any of you ever done automatic writing with success, and if so how did you do it and do you feel it is a valid form of divination, or is it even divination to you?

What do you guys think of The Temple of Set? http://www.xeper.org/pub/xp_main.htm

I've heard good and bad things from people whose opinion I really repect but none of them really had much knowledge of the temple, or it's beliefs/laws/etc.

So just wondering if anyone is a member or has some sort of knowledge of it?

I decided it was time to break out the small obsidian night portal and gaze into its depths for the first time in months. I was in the living room with the lights and tv on. I wasn't expecting to see anything. But I got my usual swirling cloud just under the surface within about a minute.

And then I saw quite clearly a single red eye. It was red throughout like a very bloodshot eye. The center was a dark pink and the whites were red. The eye was humanoid and intelligent but I got the impression of an animal.

Today is a bit of an off day. Maybe all the weird planetary alignments are doing something. It's a new moon eclipse tonight.

What is the correlation between spirituality and mental health?
I haven't meditated in a very long while. I haven't done anything spiritual in a very long while. I'm bugged tonight and not in the best of moods. I've started kickboxing and been doing it since the beginning of the year. I have my new favorite hobby, photography, of course.

I need a spiritual jumpstart. I feel blah.

THe Albuquerque Bio Park
I was wanting to get out of the house so I went to the bio park by myself.. I felt a little weird at first, but then I started having fun taking pictures. I realize that this is a pleasure I wouldn't have with kids in tow. So I got some decent pictures. I'll share my two favorite now:

The Mojo Cauldron
In my never ending quest in various magickal arts I have borrowed from many different traditions, spiritualities, etc.
One of things I have been doing for about the last year or is so is something I call the "Mojo Cauldron". This is just a basic small cast iron cauldron that I have which I fill with the ashes of incenses I burned during rituals, various ingridents that are left over from spells, offerings of foods, etc.
I fill the cauldron over a months period (maybe two months but never longer than two months) before I take the contents in the cauldron and burn them and meditate on why these items were used and how I used them for my magick and spirtual growth. The fire/smoke also make a great scrying tool.

I was just curious if anyone else had a similiar ritual to this since most of my Heathen friends seem to treat this like a new thing when I talk to them about it.

This is actually an interesting quiz thingie and it's pretty on point (for me at least)
try it!

You scored as Ecclectic Pagan. A veritable blend of all the pantheons and perhaps a dash of a few other religions as well, you're the versitile Ecclectic Pagan. You have no problem wearing an ankh while setting an offering to Herne on your alter just below your image of Hera. You don't believe in coloring within the lines, and are a bright free-thinker. While you respect the views of your fellow pagans, as far as you're concerned, religion is the sky, and there's no one about to clip your wings with lines and limitations.

Egyptian Plaque out front of our courthouse
Thought this might interest a few people. Sorry it's so large, but it's the only one that has the egyptian plaque in detail. I see Set, Anubis and is the top head with the horns and sun Sekhmet?

the memory remains
I went to the cemetary at lunch today. Same one I shot my very first shots with the SLR. However, I found a different sector of the cemetary. There are a lot more ornate and older stones here for the most part. This cemetary has a rather restful, powerful, and peaceful feeling. I went to a newer cemetary this weekend and it had a very restless feeling to it.

I got there and shot my pictures, but this one struck me the most when I looked at it. A man came by as I was heading towards my car. He went to a stone in the ground (there was no monument like the others) and touched it, then stood for a while, touched it again and left. I had heard that framing someone in the far background makes a very different impression than in the foreground... let's see if I'm right.
